Do you think the educational system fairly judge the actual ability of its students?
This is not an essay question actually.. I am just wondering about it now (chim ya? :P).

Personally, I think it doesn't. Especially in the higher education institutions; because there is too much freedom for the students (but this is good in many sense).. and there is also a lack of uniformity. Some intructors are very easy.. just sit down, relax and you'll still get an A, while others are beyond difficult, you study day and night and still get a D. Well maybe you will say, "Pick the easy teacher then (duh)." But first, not everyone gets the privilege to enroll in their preferred classes because there are only so many spots for each class; so anyone gets to register late will have to enroll in the leftover classes (which in many cases, are those instructors that people try to avoid at all costs). Second, sometimes people just don't want to take really easy teachers cuz they know they won't gain anything from that class.

Yah, I guess it all depends on our own choices. But still, I think they should make it more uniform, in terms of expectations of each instructor towards their students; otherwise the GPA system won't work effectively. Some people with perfect 4.0 GPAs rely on only their ability to pick easy instructors and of course, luck plays an important role too.

Quotes
"You just gotta do it," she said. "You just gotta get out there and seek those things out for yourself. Life is definitely a roller-coaster, it's an adventure and it's just all about how you participate in it, if you choose to participate in it, and about going out there and having a good time and good things come to you."

"Let me tell you something you already know. The world ain't all sunshine and rainbows. It is a very mean and nasty place and it will beat you to your knees and keep you there permanently if you let it. You, me, or nobody is gonna hit as hard as life. But it ain't how hard you hit; it's about how hard you can get hit, and keep moving forward. How much you can take, and keep moving forward. That's how winning is done. Now, if you know what you're worth, then go out and get what you're worth. But you gotta be willing to take the hit, and not pointing fingers saying you ain't where you are because of him, or her, or anybody. Cowards do that and that ain't you. You're better than that! "
