Yesterday, I was writing about how frustrating it is to want to get something done but can't get it done. I wrote it halfway and I got to sleepy. Today I read it again but decided not to post it cuz it sounds too complainy. Anyways, Chinese New Year is coming soon.. in 2 days !!

Hah. I miss spending Chinese New Year in Asia. I like it during the Chinese New Year season, the festive songs will play everywhere and it's just like new year spirit.. you know like how Americans treat Christmas. It's just nice for a change. Here, there's nothing special. Well, except for the Chinese New Year dinner and some celebrations held by some Asian student organizations. But it's just not the same. I realized that I haven't spent Chinese New Year with my family for at least 4 or 5 years already. :'(

But I think even if, now, I am in Indo, we wouldn't be doing too many things either. At most just have dinners with my extended family.. greet them "sin cia ju i" and get hong baos. It was more fun when I was small. Maybe because there were more people. There were still my great-grandmas and last time everyone was still staying in the same city so we can go to one another's house. And I think kids, somehow, get more excited when they receive presents.. unlike adults. Still, overall, spending Chinese New Year over there is still more special than here. But since we are all here now, might as well make the best of it. Right?

Gong Xi Fat Chai ! Hope it will be a prosperous and meaningful year for everyone !!

Quotes
"You just gotta do it," she said. "You just gotta get out there and seek those things out for yourself. Life is definitely a roller-coaster, it's an adventure and it's just all about how you participate in it, if you choose to participate in it, and about going out there and having a good time and good things come to you."

"Let me tell you something you already know. The world ain't all sunshine and rainbows. It is a very mean and nasty place and it will beat you to your knees and keep you there permanently if you let it. You, me, or nobody is gonna hit as hard as life. But it ain't how hard you hit; it's about how hard you can get hit, and keep moving forward. How much you can take, and keep moving forward. That's how winning is done. Now, if you know what you're worth, then go out and get what you're worth. But you gotta be willing to take the hit, and not pointing fingers saying you ain't where you are because of him, or her, or anybody. Cowards do that and that ain't you. You're better than that! "
